Light and Water

Through every life we live
Through every age we walk through
Give me something I can hold
Give me something I can talk to
I see the great burning sun
Is shining down from the heavens
Into my eye am a child of all of this
No mask will hide my face
I know no hiding place
I pray that holy grace
Will lose my frown
I refuse to go down
Strong roots for it shall be dread
Get no respect from a baldhead
But there is no reward for walking dead
Or laughing for the clown
But yes you can sing forever in a line
Yes you can live forever this time
Once I found a gem to walk a while
And all the rocks were stacked
In the silent midnight black
Sure as the morning sun
When the night is done

Once we had a garden
Full beautiful and born of wild
But the northwind came to blow
And I found myself alone
With my spirit like a child
And I walked that dry riverbed
By the fire in my soul
Is pure and white

Then I found an owl chased by crows

I stay to help her and her daughter

So I swam the angry water

Through the cracks in the rocks

Within the company of bears

Then the road turns

Hawk said the stars

My reply of course was yes

The spirit is with us

This old river dam is busting
